Free State premier, Sisi Ntombela, has expressed shock following the arrest of a 21-year-old man accused of killing his 40-year-old mother in Bronville in Welkom.
Ntombela says it is sickening that the suspected had allegedly killed his own mother, said to be a former Eastern Cape SAPS administrative clerk. She says women in the country continue to be murdered with impunity by what she termed âcowardly criminalsâ.
Notmbela urged the South African Police Service (SAPS) to quickly complete their investigations and also implored the court to impose a harsh sentence.
The suspect is set to appear at the Welkom magistrateâs court on Tuesday, April 6 to face a charge of murder.
