Saskatchewan Announced 87 New Cases of COVID-19, 114 Recoveries, And One Death

By Matthew Dekker Vaccines Reported An additional 4,096 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered in the province to 112,764. The 4,096 doses of COVID-19 vaccine reported today were administered in the following regions: Far North West (21), Far North East (62), Far North Central (10), North East (133), North West (576), North Central (50), Saskatoon (635), Central East (11), Central West (131), Regina (2,392), and South West (75).  Of the doses administered March 16, 1,878 were delivered at the Regina drive thru clinic location alone. Rocanville Man Returns To Court On Child Pornography Charges

By Matthew Dekker Mar 17, 2021 5:28 PM A new court date has been set for a Rocanville man facing 11 charges stemming from a child pornography investigation. The 36-year-old, who can’t be named due to a publication ban, was back in Regina Provincial Court yesterday, with his matters adjourned to April 27th. On June 26, 2019, the Saskatchewan and Alberta Internet Child Exploitation Units acted on a tip, alleging that two men were accessing and sharing child porn. Searches were conducted in Rocanville and Red Deer, resulting in the rescue of two children, the seizure of electronics, and two arrests.

Manitoba Records 96 New Cases Of COVID-19, 47 Recoveries, No Additional Deaths

By Matthew Dekker Public health officials advise no additional deaths in people with COVID-19 reported today. The current five-day COVID-19 test positivity rate is 4.4 per cent provincially and 3.4 per cent in Winnipeg. As of 9:30 a.m. today, 96 new cases of the virus have been identified.  However, three cases have been removed due to data correction. This brings the net-new number of cases today to 93 and the total number of lab-confirmed cases in Manitoba to 32,996. Public health officials are announcing that 9 additional confirmed cases as a result of the B.1.1.7 COVID-19 variant of concern first identified in the United Kingdom have been detected. The cases identified today are all from the Winnipeg health region.

Kamsack Man Pleads Guilty To Three Charges

By Matthew Dekker Mar 17, 2021 5:27 PM A Kamsack resident charged with numerous property and weapon offences out of Indian Head, had another court date yesterday. 27-year-old Dustin Bowers pled guilty to Possession of a Loaded Prohibited Firearm, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over Five-Thousand Dollars, and Failure to Appear, and was handed an 873-day jail term. RCMP say two people were being investigated for property crime offences that occurred in a rural area near the community on August 17th, and recovered a modified .22-calibre rifle classified as a prohibited firearm. On August 20th, the Crown withdrew the charges against 26-year-old Jenna Miller.

An RM Of Dauphin Man Facing Drunk Driving Charges Receives New Court Date

By Matthew Dekker Mar 17, 2021 5:29 PM A man charged in connection with a fatal two vehicle crash just north of Dauphin, has appeared in court again. In August of 2019, Dauphin RCMP responded to a two vehicle collison at the intersection of two roads. Two girls, ages four and six, later died of their injuries, while two women in the truck with them, suffered serious injuries, as did the man in the other truck. 25-year-old Jack Winters, of the R.M. of Dauphin, faces numerous charges, including two counts each of Impaired Driving Causing Death and Dangerous Driving Causing Death, and he will be back in Dauphin Court on March 30th.
