this disease. but the drug he s getting is an immune therapy. all of us at any time in our lives pishl have cancers in our bodies. but our immune systems comes and kill off those cancer cells. but as cancer takes hold, it develops almost a shield from that immune system so the immune system can t attack it. what we ve learned to do with these immune drugs is to block that shield and let the immune system itself attack the cancer. we ve seen remarkable results with these therapies and actually a minimum of side effects. so it very well could be that he continues on with an excellent quality of life, even receiving treatment for his cancer. and there are, he was talking about, drugs that help deal with or mitigate the aftereffects of these medicines, right? and the radiation treatment. correct. the other thing we ve made a lot of advances with in cancer in the last few years are all of the supportive medications that are available to help with
after that and they did a biopsy and found that they did an mri and found that there were four spots of melanoma on my brain. they are very small spots, about two millimeters if you can envision what a millimeter is. i get my first radiation treatment for the melanoma in my brain this afternoon. and then i understand i ll have four treatments scheduled at three-week intervals. in addition to that, yesterday they fitted me with a mask to hold my head perfectly still while the radiation goes into the right places and i m all prepared for that which takes place this afternoon. in addition, they have given me an i.v., 30 minutes of a medicine that they use for
