Last year, Ferndale High School held a drive-thru commencement for graduating seniors, as the COVID-19 pandemic forced a shutdown of schools and traditional graduation ceremonies. While schools will be holding ceremonies this year, Ferndale High School did hold its drive-thru once again in the days before its ceremony.

FERNDALE/BERKLEY The high school seniors in the Ferndale and Berkley school districts will get to have graduation ceremonies this year.
Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, students and their families and friends weren’t able to gather for graduation last year. With more people becoming vaccinated, both districts will be holding ceremonies in June.

FERNDALE/BERKLEY Amid all the terrible repercussions of the COVID-19 pandemic, its effect on the school system has been a notable one.
While the majority of the focus has been on students learning in and out of the classrooms, there also has been a major loss of social activity and interaction among the students over the past year.
