As long as Nifty is trading above 17,900 the uptrend formation is likely to continue and could move up till 18,150-18,250, says Amol Athawale, Technical Analyst (DVP), Kotak Securities.
BSE Sensex rose 169.87 points, or 0.28 per cent, to settle at 60,300.58. NSE's Nifty50 gained 44.35 points, or 0.25 per cent, to close at 17,813.60 for the day.
Nifty futures on the Singapore Exchange traded 10 points, or 0.06 per cent, higher at 17,675, hinting at a positive start for the domestic market on Friday.
