Avenue Supermarts reaches a 52-week high on posting a 20% YoY revenue growth. The stock has risen 27% in the past 12 months, largely in line with Nifty s 29% gains. CLSA, meanwhile, recently initiated coverage on the stock.
On Tuesday, the Radhakishan Damani-owned company reported a 17% year-on-year jump in its standalone revenue for the October-December quarter at Rs 13,247.33 crore versus Rs 11,304.58 crore in the year-ago period. The total number of stores as of December 31, 2023, stood at 341, the company said in its filing to the exchanges.
Avenue Supermarts reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 623.35 crore in Q2 FY24, down 9.09 percent Year-on-Year (YoY). The company’s revenue was up 18.66 percent YoY at Rs 12,624.37 crore in the same period
DMart Q2 Results Preview: According to the provisional numbers released by the owner of DMart hypermarket chain earlier this month, the companys standalone revenue increased by nearly 19% YoY in the September quarter to Rs 12,308 crore. However, the net profit is expected to decline about 3% on year to Rs 666 crore, according to the average of estimates given by five brokerages.
Ahead of its earnings, shares of the company end 0.5% higher on the National Stock Exchange at Rs 3,838.75. In the June quarter, the stock has gained more than 14% and scaled an over 6-month high of Rs 4,150 last month.
