Beacon Middle students Aubrie Smith and Jameson Tingle were recognized Feb. 11 with the African American/Black Achievement Award from the Southern Delaware Alliance for Racial Justice.
Teachers said eighth-grader Aubrie Smith has impressed them since day one with her positive attitude, hard work ethic, and dedication to her academics.
Aubrie greets everyone with kindness and a smile, said teachers, who describe her as conscientious, a self-advocate, and someone who values education and demonstrates every aspect of what a Beacon student should be.
