Planned Parenthood of South, East and North Florida is offering free walk-up testing on Friday for sexually transmitted infections at its Gainesville Health Center.
No appointment or insurance is necessary, and anyone of any age can come with a face mask and ID and get screened for chlamydia, gonorrhea, HIV and syphilis, said Rachel Eisenberg, a nurse practitioner with Planned Parenthood.
The center typically provides free testing to teens and is expanding to cover all adults because April is national STD Awareness and Get Yourself Tested month, she said. It is also an effort to help eliminate financial barriers to care for people during the COVID-19 pandemic.
