Starting Friday, a series of high-end stores begin opening in Legacy West, an outdoor dining, residential, business and retail district that’s prevailing in the pandemic.
“We have a beautiful outdoor space so obviously, during the pandemic, people feel a little more comfortable being outside,” Chang said.
Legacy West hasn t had a single store close because of the pandemic, she said, adding crowds are back to what they were in 2019.
“We track it via cell phone data so on an average Saturday you re looking at an average of 25-30,000 people on property,” Chang said.
It isn t just foot traffic picking up. Spending is also starting to flow, two reasons Chang believes brands like Gucci, Louis Vuitton and Tiffany and Co. are expanding in spite of struggles being seen in the retail industry.

Right now, masks are required on all trains, which operate at 50% capacity. The Frecce trains also have seat assignments that must be adhered to.
This was just one of several announcements that the operator, which runs Trenitalia, made last week. As part of Italy s strategic vaccination plan, the main train terminal in Rome is also now the country s first major railway hub to serve as a vaccination point, offering up to 1,500 shots per day in three mobile tents set up in the piazza in front of the station, as detailed in a release.
Separately, the operator also launched a healthcare train that can both treat patients on board and transport them to hospitals with more capacity. The train has three healthcare carriages that can hold seven patients each, as well as intensive care beds for those requiring ventilation, according to a release.
As the airline industry struggled to hang onto passengers during the pandemic, major U.S. airlines reinvented their change fee models to offer more flexibility. While for most booking classes, those changes became permanent, that stipulation did not apply to the lowest-cost flights, often called basic economy fares.
Right now, most airline tickets including those on Alaska, American, Delta, Hawaiian, JetBlue, and United come with free date changes across all classes, including basic economy. But that policy will end for the lowest fares at the end of March, according to Scott Keyes of Scott s Cheap Flights. (He notes that Southwest already didn t have change fees on their fares.)
