Court remands 11 over death of Ibarapa fuel station owner On Kindly Share This Story: An Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ Court, sitting in Ibadan, on Tuesday, remanded 11 persons over the alleged kidnap and death of an Ibarapa fuel station owner and other two young girls. The defendants include Abubakar Idris, 23; Rabiu Usman, 22; Umar Usman, 22; Usman Saliu, 20; Sahibu Idi, 24; Tiamiyu Isah, 55; Rasak Ramon, 45 and Kate Mohammed, 25. Others are: Umar Ahmadu,30; Kabiru Adamu, 25 and Muhammadu Abdullahi, 25. The defendants were in arraigned on a seven-count charge, bordering on conspiracy, kidnapping, causing death and unlawful dispossession of cell phone. The Magistrate, Mrs O. A. Akande, who did not take their plea, remanded all the defendants in Abolongo correctional facility, pending the outcome of the case file from Oyo State Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP).

She was a member of Independent Petroleum Marketers (IPMAN) in the Idere area of Ibarapa. Those who were arrested comprising Fulani men and two Yoruba men are Abubakar Idris, Shuibu Idi, Usman Saliu, Rabiu Usman, Umar Usman, Tiamiyu Isah, Rasak Ramon, Jare Mohammed, Umaru Amadu, Kabiru Adamu and Mohammed Abdullahi. Two of the suspects – Tiamiyu Isah and Rasak Ramon – were private security guards who were absent from work on the day their employer, Adisa, was killed. The two aged security guards claimed their absence from work on the same day was a coincidence. They denied any knowledge of the abduction and killing of their boss.

The statement read in part, “In another case, involving the State vs Dauda Malam Mato, the defendant was charged with rape against a minor girl. The defendant is also from Kangire village Birnin Kudu and after his arraignment, he denied the charge. However, Justice Musa Ubale found the defendant guilty, and he was convicted
