GUWAHATI: The BPF (Bodoland People s Front) has decided to cooperate with the next government on all core issues of the people in the BTR (Bodoland Territorial Region) and the State as large. This has been stated by Durga Das Boro, one of the four newly elected BPF legislators. He has been elected from Kalaigaon Constituency in Udalguri district this time.
Talking to The Sentinel, he added, We fought the Assembly polls along with our allies in the Mahajoot . The BPF secured four seats. In the Assembly, all our four legislators will reflect all the key issues of the people in the BTR and across the State. The BPF will cooperate with the new government in Dispur also on COVID management.

Horse-trading in Assam Poll 2021: In a bid to thwart any possibility of horse-trading, the BPF (Bodoland People s Front) has kept a section of its candidates in an undisclosed hotel outside the State. According to sources, as many as 10 BPF candidates contesting the polls in the four districts of BTR (Bodoland Territorial Region) have been sent outside the state. The candidates are accompanied by BTC executive members. Only Minister Pramila Rani Brahma, a six-time MLA from the Kokrajhar East constituency, and Rabiram Narzary are in Kokrajhar now.
BPF president Hagrama Mohilary took the decision to shift party candidates to another State after a meeting with its candidates in Kokrajhar, amid fears of horse-trading by the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) before the announcement of results of the Assam Assembly elections on May 2, 2021.
