are at a serious moment in democracy. it is on the line. i ve had the privilege, as i see it, to be in the fight and engage in this moment as you point out. we saw this violent attack on the capital january 6th the night before my election was called, january 5th. that s is something important about america. on january 5th, georgia did an amazing thing. it is a deep honor for me that people of georgia stood up, sent the first african american senator to the united senate, a kid you grew up in public housing. also, it is his first jewish senator. in one fell swoop i think somewhere in the glory of martin luther king junior and rabbi joshua, another moment of struggle, in which we had to move closer to our democracy
