Being a purely religious body, by getting involved into the farmers agitation, which comprises farmers from all religions and castes, the SGPC is going completely against the mandate given to it under The Sikh Gurdwaras Act, 1925 and Punjab Act 8 of 1925 .
On International Women’s Day, women from Punjab reached Tikri on Delhi-Haryana border on to join the ongoing farmers’ protest. Farmers Chakka Jam
The nationwide farmer-led ‘Chakka Jam’ commenced at noon today. Farmers protesting were seen blocking roads and national highways in cities and towns across the country. Farmers’ bodies will organise a 3-hour ‘chakka jam’ across the country today, between 12 noon and 3 pm. The farmers protesting at the Capital’s border have assured that they will not enter Delhi. Security has been tightened in Delhi-NCR in view of ‘Chakka Jam’ call by farmers. Around 50,000 personnel of Delhi Police, Paramilitary & Reserve Forces deployed in the region. Farmer leader Rakesh Tikait spoke to NewsX exclusively about the nationwide ‘Chakka Jam’ which is planned today and added that no farmers have spoken anything wrong about government leaders.

As protesting farmers breached barricades and changed their agreed route of a tractor rally to enter central Delhi on Republic Day, dozens of tractors rolled into the Red Fort.
Protesters were seen within the ramparts of the iconic Mughal-built monument, putting up yellow Sikh religious flags, waving sticks and shouting slogans.
The Red Fort complex was overrun with tractors and farmers holding flags within moments, with the police severely outnumbered. Some policemen were also manhandled by the protesters. Everybody come to Red Fort, shouted the farmers triumphantly against the backdrop of music blaring from tractors.

What was supposed to be a strictly monitored and disciplined rally of tractors today turned into a virtual free-for-all as protesting farmers entered the heart of Delhi, veering several kilometres off the agreed route. Neither the police nor the farmer leaders looked in control of the situation as key locations of the national capital, from ITO to the Red Fort, turned into a sea of tractors and other vehicles. Some of them even began to drive in a haphazard manner amid the milling ground, seemingly to threaten the assembled policemen.
