package. leland: vice president pence was on the hill with his latest offer. tony, is not a fair critique that president trump hasn t done enough hands up on negotiating with chuck and nancy in the oval office? it s just not. if you look at the video evidence, they are all on record saying we need to pass this kind of security or fencing or border, they ve actually use the wall terminology on the u.s. border. so the fact that they are doing what they are doing now is showing that the movement is at the quote unquote resistance, and we have a clear eyed idea now but we will see that for the next few years. so in any other context we are called open border democrats. but you heard from my counterparts that we ve spoken at length about the need for border security so i don t know which one it is. while why won t you guys pass
reminding us about her frustration and the, quote/unquote resistance that continues on the democratic side, and there is really no healing. there was no healing in that speech. and i think abby made a really good point about what s the path forward as well as, you know, there s been a lot of criticism about donald trump and his lack of humility. there wasn t a lot of humility in that speech either about i got beat by somebody nobody thought could win. what should we be looking at? not just me, but the party, the folks who are around who believe in resisting donald trump? what did we get wrong and how do we get it right. she did talk about getting the young people involved. she talked about her own organization she founded. in 69 when she was the student speaker at her own commencement, if you re not familiar with the history history, martin luther king and bobby kennedy had been killed. we were in the middle of the vietnam war. it was a time of incredible
year, i remember a lot of concern among progressives and people involved in the mark that the energy would not sustain itself. and since then we ve seen the march for science and attacks march. march for our lives which was the gun march after the parkland shooting. so i think they are very enthused that we continue to see these large demonstrations coming out, it keeps the energy up at a time when activists might want to tune out and give up. the biggest impact might be more internally inside the quote-unquote resistance to keep people engaged. what do you think in terms of confidence, kaitlyn? is the topic of immigration, is that giving democrats a boost going into the mid-terms? well it certainly is something that is appears at this point to really mobilize folks. we re seeing there has been a lot that has happened this week. but these protesters are trying to keep the issue of immigration, particularly the
