from a committee spokesperson who said, in a statement, quote the select committee is engaged in uncooperative process to address the needs of the department of justice. we are not inclined to share the details of that publicly, we believe accountability is important, and won t be an obstacle to the departments prosecutions. now, there are several reasons, possible reasons for the committee s initial hesitancy in getting these transcripts to the doj. one of them could be just the sheer magnitude of this request. remember, one of the hearings from earlier this week was postponed because of what commuting member said wasn t overwhelmed staff, and having to cut all of this clips of pre-recorded testimony. so you can only member how big of a task it would be to gather over 1000 witness testimonies documents to get over to the doj. and another reason could be because the committee was still gathering evidence, is still interviewing witnesses. we hear at the end of each of these hearings, ch

and in the days following january 6th, eastman saw a pardon from donald trump. joining me now, hugo logo, congressional reporter for the guardian. hugo, big welcome. and your reaction to these revelations and your biggest takeaways from both the hearings, this week what are they? i think the biggest revelation has to be the fact that eastman emailed giuliani, as you say, in the days after january 6th and sought a presidential pardon. i don t think you get a greater display or example of consciousness of guilt, or a fear that you are guilty of a crime, then when you ask for a pardon. i thought it was interesting that he went to giuliani, of all people. clearly he knew that giuliani was the gatekeeper to the president, and that she needed to go to get through giuliani to try to get on his pardon list. but it kind of fits into the wider narrative of what i think the committee has been trying to do with these hearings, which is to show that all of these people, all of the presidents men
