Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, quota activist Manoj Jarange and Mathadi leader Narendra Patil will be conferred the Maratha Bhushan this year, the organisers said on Thursday. The award is given every year to prominent personalities from the Maratha community.
Jarange, who set off from his village Antarwali Sarati in Jalna district on Saturday, has declared that he would come to Mumbai with lakhs of supporters and launch an indefinite fast until their demands are fulfilled. Jarange has been demanding that Marathas in the state be given Kunbi certificates.
