GUWAHATI: The Paresh Baruah faction of the insurgent group United Liberation Front of Assam (ULFA) has released the second abducted employee of New Delhi-based oil exploration firm Quippo Oil and Gas Infrastructure.
The Assam Rifles found Ram Kumar at Longwa village in the Mon district of Nagaland on Monday.
“The Assam Rifles found him this morning and handed him over to Tizit police. He will be handed over to Assam Police following formalities,” Mon District Magistrate, Thavaseelan K said.
On December 21 last year, the ULFA had abducted Kumar and another employee of the firm, Pranab Kumar Gogoi, from their workplace in Arunachal’s Diyun and apparently, taken them to Myanmar where the outfit operates from.

GUWAHATI: The ULFA (I) has released the second abducted Quippo employee Ram Kumar in an undisclosed location near the India-Myanmar border in Nagaland, said reports.
Reportedly, he is under the custody of the Assam Rifles.
Ram Kumar who worked as a radio operator was abducted with another employee Pranab Kumar Gogoi by the banned outfit on December 21 from the Kumchaikha drilling site in Innao area of Changlang district in Arunachal Pradesh.

GUWAHATI: The Paresh Baruah faction of the United Liberation Front of Assam (ULFA) has released one of the two kidnapped employees of New Delhi-based oil exploration firm Quippo Oil and Gas Infrastructure Limited.
The Arunachal Pradesh Police found Pranab Kumar Gogoi (51) at a village near the India-Myanmar border in Changlang district. The police said there was no trace of the other abducted employee, Ram Kumar (35), who hails from Bihar.
“We are interrogating him (Gogoi) but he has not been able to say where his colleague is. He said they had been kept in different locations for the past month,” Changlang Superintendent of Police, Mihin Gambo said.
