summer games, right? so much fun. good morning, everyone. welcome to early, early early start. up first, debby doing more damage and dumping more rain than some full-blown hurricanes. the deadly storm now downgradeds to a tropical depression where is slashes across florida where a state of emergency is still in place. that storm is second to bring rains to florida for another day. george, i was reading this morning the folks here were really scared because the water came in so quickly. how are the conditions there now? well, you know, zoraida, good morning. we know the storm cloud have all passed here but again, these residents are dealing with a very difficult situation right now. just take a look. you see this home submerged for the most part in water. that s what you find in many of these low lying areas. it s hit or miss that more water that is covering these homes. in some places drivers are having to deal with six inches to a foot of water on the road. you see pol
governor perry running for president. in his book, said in his view social security itself is a failure. he said by any measure social security is a failure. joanne reed is managing editor at the grio.com and from the st. petersdz burg times. thanks for having me. how will the respective stances of these two candidates play out there? i think it s absolutely joanne, go ahead. what s interesting there s a quinn pea yak poll that shows rick perry isn t losing anything by saying social security is a ponzi scheme. half say it s fair to describe it that way. where perry gets hurt is with a general election audience, where his social security stance is problematic and all floridians with seniors in florida, they don t agree with that either.
best their best to show where their priorities are, and we should take them seriously. they really seem to believe that insurance companies should be in the driver s seat, that people with preexisting conditions should be denied coverage and seniors should have more expensive prescription drugs. and the reality is that all of those things we were able to include in health care reform that are covered would no longer be covered if god forbid they were successful. we ll talk today and tomorrow about the real impact that health care repeal would have on actual americans, and, chris, the other thing that is that every minute we re spending wasting time on trying to repeal health care fruitlessly is one less minute we re spending on getting the economy turned around and on jobs pfr i don t know if you ve seen the new quinn pea yak poll, numbers
