EVANSVILLE, IND. (04/14/2023) After a two-year hiatus, the University of Evansville Theatre Department has announced the return of the Rogue and Peasant Aces, their traveling performance troupe, with ANIMAL FARM, based on the book by George Orwell and adapted by Ian Wooldridge.

I wanted to take the opportunity to tell you, readers, about the show I am performing in this semester. I play Moses, Mollie, Minimus, Pilkington, and others in Animal Farm, adapted by Ian Wooldridge, based on the book by George Orwell, and directed by Rebecca Conaway ’23! This dramatization remains faithful to the book’s plot and intent and retains both its affection for the animals and the insightfulness of its message.
Wyatt Freeman, McAlester High School s Director of Competitive Speech, Drama, and Mock Trial, details the school s One Act Play production of Radium Girls.
Amy Swain said McAlester High School students are excited to get back on the stage.
The MHS choir director said the program is ready to perform the award-winning musical produce Bright Star â an award-winning musical that was also nominated for Tony Awards and Grammys â on Friday and Sunday after a year of coronavirus precautions. It s going to be wonderful, Swain said. The kids have done an outstanding job rehearsing and putting on this production during our time of COVID and they re just thrilled to be on the stage again at S. Arch and showcasing their talents to the community.
The shows are scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the S. Arch Thompson Auditorium.
