General joseph votel for a keynote address today. He currently serves for National Security. He joined there in january 2020 following 39 years of distinguished military service. He served in u. S. Central command. He prior to serving as the commander of central command, he commanded the u. S. Special operations command. Hes also a distinguished senior fellow at the middle east institute. Im happen foi welcome paul salem here. He is going to talk about a theme that has come up throughout the discussion this morning which were all aware of but werent sure of what to think of.
