SMC president Ramon S. Ang and Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) secretary Mark Villar led the opening.
“ The full completion of Skyway Stage 3 will divert at least 75,000 vehicles away from EDSA or C5,” Villar remarked.
“Skyway Stage 3 is proof that the private sector and the government can work together towards a unified solution,” he stressed.
“The opening of the Quirino southbound exit will improve accessibility from Quezon City and Manila,” Ang noted.
“With more private vehicles diverted to Skyway Stage 3 on their way back from NLEX, or coming from Quezon Ave., to Manila, traffic on our major public roads as well as on streets used as ‘short cuts’ or ‘alternate routes’, will be a thing of the past,” he confirmed.

For those of us with some semblance of a job or other, Labor Day merely highlighted the despair and emptiness of life without a job, without a purpose. After all, most of us, through no fault of our own, do not have the luxury to “live to work,” we are forced to “work to live.” Last Saturday, I decided to free myself from unjustified detention, a good excuse to venture out and experience the world outside – a holiday promising a traffic-free ride in the car, my own good-for-one “bubble.”
Without asking my children for permission, I jumped into my little car, choosing the handsome part of Manila as my destination. It was smooth sailing from Quezon Ave., Quezon City, as I had expected, until a few kilometers to España Blvd., Manila. There, traffic abruptly came to a standstill, for which Ms. Waze found no explanation. There went my holiday, in the heat of summer, caught in a jam; punishment for breaking out?
SunStar April 11, 2021 The sandwich comes with a seemingly endless list of iterations, but nothing quite compares to the humble grilled cheese. Its simplicity and the straightforwardness of indulging in toasty buttered bread with nothing but cheese and more cheese seem like peak indulgence in terms of food.
Since today is Grilled Cheese Sandwich Day, we think it’s only right that we celebrate with the rest of the world. Here’s a roundup of places here in Cebu City where you can get your cheese on:
The Neighborhood Cafe

It’s go big or go home for this one. Five kinds of cheeses mozzarella, Emmental, parmesan, cheddar and Monterey Jack are cradled by thick-cut buttered white bread and slathered with a secret special sauce. Each order comes with a side of crispy shoestring fries too. The Neighborhood Cafe is located on J. Fortich St. in Banawa.

The department said they will conduct an audit of the newly opened elevated expressway from Wednesday night until Friday morning “to ensure all systems are in place for the safety of motorists plying the new toll road.”
According to the department, the entire expressway that connects Skyway in Buendia, Makati City all the way to the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) in Balintawak, Quezon City is covered by the road traffic safety inspection.
“We are temporarily closing the Skyway Stage 3 from 10 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13, up to 5 a.m., Jan. 15, to check whether existing measures as well as features and signages are effective in preventing accidents of road users,” Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar said.
