Series of COVID-19 exposures identified in the Quesnel School District

Northern Health says a second exposure has been identified at Quesnel Junior School, this one between May 5th and 7th.
The first was between the 4th and 5th and was announced yesterday.
An exposure has also been identified at Barlow Creek Elementary and at Correlieu Secondary School, both between May 4th and 7th.
As always, close contacts will be notified directly by public health and asked to isolate for 14 days.
In total, there have now been eleven exposures now in the Quesnel School District since the pandemic began.
COVID-19 Exposure At Quesnel Junior School

Northern Health says there was a COVID-19 exposure at Quesnel Junior School.
According to Northern Health, the exposure occurred on Tuesday, May 4th, and Wednesday, May 5th, and that Public Health is working to identify any close contacts among staff or students.
Northern Health said in a letter addressed to Parents, Guardians, Staff, and Students today (May 18th) anyone identified as a close contact will be notified directly by public health and asked to isolate for 14 days from their last date of possible exposure.
There was also an exposure back on May 4th at Correlieu Secondary School.
Northern Health says there was an exposure at the high school on May 4th.

“We know that Northern Health will do all that contact tracing, they’ll be talking with whoever the individual is who tested positive and will identify other people. So I think one of the most important messages is just to trust that they’re going to do the contact tracing, and they will let the District know if there are any additional cases, so at this time no additional cases.”
A letter went home to parents at the school today.
It suggests that parents and students self monitor for signs of illness until May 19th at midnight.

A Covid-19 exposure has been identified at Voyageur Elementary School in Quesnel.
A letter went home to parents today from Northern Health indicating that it happened on April 22nd, 23rd and 26th.
Public Health is now working to identify any close contacts among staff or students.
Anyone identified as a close contact will be notified directly by public health and asked to isolate for 14 days from their last date of possible exposure.
If you do not receive a call from public health, your risk of exposure is considered to be very low and you are not recommended to isolate at this time.
