Rowe and Wilkinson had been at Hewitt s house to collect some of Wilkinson s clothing and other items. Wilkinson was standing in her bedroom when men arrived and she told him Moananui was outside. Wilkinson told her to stay inside, and he went outside with Rowe. “He walked out and I didn t see him again,” Hewitt said. She was trying to put her 3-year-old son to bed, then she heard banging which she thought was coming from the garage. “I saw [Rowe] on the driveway on his knees with blood pouring out his head.”

Five men are on trial at the High Court in Palmerston North for the murder of Codi Wilkinson.
Wilkinson’s body was found 15 days after he went missing. The defendants are also charged with kidnapping Rowe and Wilkinson, wounding Rowe with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and participating in an organised criminal group. Jeremiah Sua’s lawyer, Chris Tennet, spent time quizzing Terry about her interactions with police. He noticed her talking to detectives outside court, wondered why it took her months to prepare a statement in 2020 and why she spent hours with police giving a statement on another occasion. Some comments in her statements were slightly different from what she said in court, he said. Terry said she had found the whole process of giving statements and evidence hard but she had not been coached in any way.
Codi Wilkinson was allegedly killed by a group of fellow Mongrel Mob members in September 2019.
An Aotearoa Mongrel Mob president allegedly bought booze and pizza for fellow gang members while a man they are accused of murdering lay dead in a garden hedge, a court has heard. The death allegedly happened because a junior mobster crossed that president, Jeremiah Sua, one time too many. The gangland and criminal justice systems came together in the High Court at Palmerston North on Thursday, the first day of the trial of five men accused of murdering Wilkinson in September 2019. Quentin Joseph Moananui, Dean Arthur Jennings, Mariota Sua, Jeremiah Sua and Jason David Signal deny the murder, kidnapping Wilkinson and his friend Kyle Rowe, wounding Rowe with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and participating in an organised criminal group.
