STREATOR – Jammin’ at the Clock’s musical extravaganza countdown begins as the first act of the season takes the stage tonight in Streator. Quentin Flagg, a local favorite will kick off the season at 6 p.m. in Heritage Park.
Organizer Toni Pettit says there will be a wide array of musical artists this summer, from polka to motown tributes. Pettit says this season wouldn’t be possible without community support and thanks to local businesses like Grant Street Grocery, Streator Home Savings Bank, and Streator Community Credit Union. Itâs hard to do live shows during the coronavirus pandemic.
But Brad McCrady is determined to perform his annual âA Rock & Roll Christmasâ tribute show at the Owensboro Convention Center at 7 p.m. on Dec. 19.
It was postponed from last month by state restrictions on gatherings.
But McCrady is going to try again.
âChristmas music is such an important part of the holidays,â he said this week. âPeople need to get their spirits lifted.â
McCrady, an Elvis tribute artist, said heâs been doing the Christmas shows since he graduated from high school in 2003.
âSometimes, the weather cooperates,â he said. âSometimes, it doesnât.â
