A judge compared a fraudster to the former first lady of the Philippines as a court heard she used the proceeds of a bank swindle to spend a fortune on designer shoes. Married couple Emmanuel Scotts, 53, and Behnaz Khoram-Scotts, 51, both from Chelsea, west London, pleaded guilty to fraud by false representation and conspiracy to commit fraud following an investigation by the Dedicated Card and Payment Crime Unit (DCPCU), a specialist police unit funded by the banking and cards industry. The couple opened six different bank accounts with fake names after they lied about their professions to present themselves as wealthy.

Police shutdown party in Balham | Your Local Guardian

Police were recently called to a residential block in Balham Twenty-five people have been reported for the consideration of fixed penalty notices after a blatant breach of coronavirus rules.  Police were called at 4.44pm on January 29, to an address in Rinaldo Road, at the junction with Balham High Road SW12, after reports of loud music and a large number of people in attendance. Officers attended and found 25 people in the address having a party. The group was dispersed and all 25 were reported for the consideration of fixed penalty notices of £800 for breaking the rules designed to prevent the spread of the virus.
