The former Deputy Prime Minister spent the Labour Day long weekend with partner Vikki Campion on Hamilton Island to attend the wedding of his former staffer, William Rollo, who was among his team of media advisers when his relationship with Campion went public in 2018. BELOVED resident Brittney Kahl has long-been known across Ipswich for her outstanding musical talent and dedication to the cityâs thriving entertainment scene.
Now, her skills have been recognised by some of Queenslandâs industry heavyweights following her acceptance into the renowned QMusic Women in Music Mentorship program.
The State-led program requires nine mentees to develop a musical tour showcasing a line-up of female performers who will take to the stage in North Queensland later this year.

âIâm really excited to connect and work with other emerging female industry professionals, and pour the skills and knowledge gained in the program back into my local community,â she said.

Queensland Music Festival taps Bigfish for a rebrand and its first ever TVC

Queensland Music Festival is exploring new territory in 2021, turning to Brisbane creative agency Bigfish to help create an advertising campaign for its new Queensland Music Trails (QMT).
In a first for the festival, it has released a TVC sport starring Aussie larrikin/actor Aaron Gocs, with the campaign not only promoting the festival and associated music trails, but also to encourage Aussies to travel around Queensland.
QMF CEO Joel Edmunson tells Mumbrella that the move was deliberately to create “market differentiation”.
“We’re trying to establish a brand that says something about Queensland that transcends any one event.

Subscriber only Queensland s rising music stars have been honoured as finalists at the 2021 Queensland Music Awards after a record number of entries. Continuing her meteoric rise since the release of her debut album last year, Miiesha landed three nominations - across the indigenous, remote and soul categories - for her song Twisting Words. The Indigenous singer-songwriter, from the Central Queensland town of Woorabinda, previously received three ARIA nominations last year and recently two APRA nods. Karl S Williams is a finalist in the Country, Blues/Roots and Folk categories
