Redemptions mount for AMP Capital Share Fund manager AMP Capital is juggling hefty redemption requests of more than $2.5 billion from investors in its real estate business as its parent, AMP, looks to lock in a transformative deal with New York’s Ares Management. Those requests will add another layer of complexity for two of the flagship commercial property funds where AMP Capital is already under pressure to lock in support from investors to retain its role as the manager. AMP Capital has locked in a major lease deal with Bank of Queensland Group which will take up nearly 5800sq m over a 10-year term at 255 George Street in Sydney.
