Quinte region now has over 100 active COVID-19 cases

The Quinte region has broke another pandemic record, in the first day of the third province-wide shutdown. Hastings Prince Edward Public Health reported 22 new COVID-19 cases today. That brings the total of active cases to 107, a number that has not been seen since the start of the pandemic. Staff note that three people are now in hospital, with two in ICU. A total of four outbreaks have been identified: 1 case connected to a workplace in Quinte West 3 cases connected to a workplace in Trenton 5 cases connected to a workplace in Belleville. 4 cases connected to a school/child care facility. Individuals who visited the Duke Pub between Tuesday, March 30 – and Thursday, April 1 are encouraged to seek testing for COVID-19 immediately, even if asymptomatic.
