Mermaid subculture is increasing in popularity in many places in the world. People dress up like imaginary sea creatures to have fun and to form like-minded groups.

Mermaiding, the artistic swimming activity in which people wear mermaid fins and tails, has gained popularity worldwide because it's "fun" and enjoyable, say insiders.
