Pearl Harbor survivor!
Jack Holder is one of three Pearl Harbor survivors left in our state. Sunday was his 99th birthday!
To celebrate his big day, Jack was taken for a flight in a WWI plane.
When he landed at the Stellar Airpark in Chandler, the students greeted him by waving American flags and singing happy birthday.
Jack is the focus of an upcoming documentary called
Holder of History: the Jack Holder story. The documentary crew organized Jack’s celebration.
“Jack is an American hero. We must never forget his story,” said Mrs. Thompson. “I am thankful that Queen Creek students had the opportunity to honor Jack by being a part of his birthday celebration.”
