At a press conference in Montreal, Christian Dubé, Quebec’s minister of health and social services, provides an update on the province’s COVID-19 vaccination campaign. He is joined by Dr. Horacio Arruda, the province’s director of public health, as well as by Daniel Paré, director of Quebec’s COVID-19 vaccination campaign. The minister is expected to discuss vaccination of children following the approval from Health Canada on administering the COVID-19 Pfizer vaccine to children aged 12 to 15. (no interpretation)

In Quebec City, Christian Dubé, Quebec’s minister of health and social services, provides an update on the province’s response to the ongoing COVID-19 (coronavirus disease) pandemic. He is joined by Dr. Horacio Arruda, the province’s director of public health. They provide an update on the spread of COVID-19 variants in the province. The minister also announces that vaccination efforts will now target Montreal, as most of the province’s COVID-19 cases are recorded in this region. (no interpretation)
Quebec to Extend Delay for Second Dose of COVID-19 Vaccines
At a press conference in Montreal, Quebec’s minister of health Christian Dubé provides an update on the COVID-19 vaccination rollout in the province. He is joined by Dr. Richard Massé, strategic medical advisor with Quebec’s public health department, as well as by Daniel Paré, director of Quebec’s COVID-19 vaccination campaign. Minister Dubé says that Quebec’s public-health experts now recommend delaying the administration of the vaccine’s second dose from 42 to 90 days after the first dose, to quickly vaccinate as many vulnerable people as possible. At the federal level, the National Advisory Committee on Immunization (NACI) now recognizes that, in exceptional circumstances, authorities may consider a 42-day interval before the administration of Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccines’ second dose.
