The president of the local teachers union, says the school board in the town of St-Hyacinthe dismissed her even though she had found qualified replacements to cover her absence.
Some teachers say they feel supported by parents and their bosses, but not by the Legault government in the aftermath of the strike and tense contract talks.
The Quebec Provincial Association of Teachers said they are disappointed with the final offer, especially when it comes to added resources in the classroom.
The announcement concludes a months-long squabble between Quebec and the more than 66,000-member FAE, which was the only union to launch an unlimited general strike last year.
