Quebec Govt Announces Expansion of Hospitality Company Sonder in Montreal
At a news conference in Montreal, François Legault, the premier of Quebec, and Pierre Fitzgibbon, the provincial minister of economy and innovation, announce the establishment of Sonder’s international growth centre in Montreal. They are joined by Francis Davidson, chair and co-founder of Sonder, as well as by Martin Picard, global head of real estate and co-founder of Sonder. The premier announces a $30 million loan to the short-term apartment rental business for its $182-million expansion project. The company was founded in 2012 in Montreal and is now based in San Francisco. Approximately 700 jobs will be created between 2021 and 2025.
