The City of Sherbrooke said the Saint-François River had swelled to the point that it reached 20 feet deep. Preventive evacuations and street closures were carried out.
Quebec provincial police found two bodies in a river in the Charlevoix region where two firefighters went missing while attempting to rescue residents during spring flooding.
The discovery was made by a police helicopter around 10 a.m. in St-Urbain in the Charlevoix region. Quebec provincial police say it is likely one of the missing firefighters.
