There was a quote in a story on the official league website after the Chicago Rush lost an inter-division game to the Tulsa Talons this past weekend that intrigued me. That quote came from Rush first year head coach Bob McMillen.
In a world where scores can easily reach into the 60s, 70s, and 80's, the Chicago Rush look at things a little bit differently. Defense CAN help to win games in the Arena Football League. In three of the past four seasons, the Rush has held their opponents to an average of under 50 points per game.
One area that the Chicago Rush was bragging about all throughout their training camp was their offensive line. Sometimes it is funny in this sport how one game can change the outlook of things very quickly. In their victory over the Milwaukee Mustangs, 49-41 on Monday night, the Rush suffered two key injuries on that solid offensive line.
