Accident and Emergency Departments in england had their worst waiting time performance in january since targets were introduced 13 years ago. Provisional figures leaked to the bbc also suggest that a record numbers of patients have had to wait on trolleys for a bed to become available. The Department Of Health insists the vast majority of patients are treated quickly. Patients are traditionally supposed to be seen and discharged within four hours, with a target of 95 . These figures suggest Record Numbers of people waited longer than 12 hours for a hospital bed once seen in a e, making january the worst performing month for A E Departments in the past 13 years.
