Storm Leaves Several Homeless in Lofa County

As victims call for humanitarian supports A violent storm that swept across Sarkondu, Quardu Gboni District, Lofa County, left widespread damage, blowing off roofs and leaving many homes uninhabitable. Families in the district were left to pick up the pieces after the violent storm compounded their already desperate living conditions. The report further reveals that at least 220 homes were affected and residents lost most of their belongings in the storm. The victims, most of whom are women, now sleep in the open while children are being sheltered in neighbors’ homes. The incident which took place on Wednesday, April 28, 2021, saw the destruction of several homes including one of the two Junior High Schools in the entire district. Residents are therefore calling on authorities, particularly the National Disaster Management Agency Team or the government, for their intervention.

Kamara, recently graduated with two masters, an MSc in Project Management from the University of Kigali and an MA in Development Studies from Mount Kenya University, Kenya.  Amara, famous as the Kigali trained, ably represented Liberia during his studies in Kigali and left an indelible impression on his professors, fellow students, and the faculty at institutions, participating in several professor-led research projects and submitting several academic papers for publications.
