Raptor Photonics continues to push the boundaries in scientific SWIR imaging with the Ninox 640 SU InGaAs Camera
11 Dec 2020
Quantum Design UK and Ireland are pleased to announce that Raptor Photonics has launched the Ninox 640 SU, a vacuum cooled InGaAs based camera with 640×512 sensor with a 15µm x 15µm pixel pitch for the highest spatial resolution. The Ninox 640SU is vacuum cooled to -80°C for ultra-long exposures of up to 5 minutes. Its ultra-low dark current and read-noise result in the best “scientific” SWIR camera on the market today. It is the perfect camera for staring applications in SWIR wavelengths (from 900nm – 1700nm) including NIR-II In-Vivo Imaging, Fluorescence Imaging and Astronomy.
New Application Note: Remote sensing of Vegetation using SWIR cameras on a UAV
Date Announced: 01 Feb 2021

Forage Mass Monitoring (FFM) analysis has been traditionally done using biomass sampling to calculate biomass yield per hectare (t ha-1). Current research projects are now looking at reflectance spectroscopy methods using remote sensing systems based on unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Promising results in recent years prove the principal suitability of such systems for airborne monitoring of small to medium sized farmland in agricultural applications for precision agriculture, such as biomass for crops and grasslands. An imaging system in the form of a multispectral multicamera system is often used to derive well-established vegetation indices (VIs) efficiently. However, due to the use of silicon-based sensors, the spectral application range of such multi-camera systems is limited to
Quantum Design UK & Ireland and Medical Technologies Innovation Facility enter into Partnership Agreement
Date Announced: 11 Jan 2021
Agreement will aim to benefit the life science and semiconductor market sectors and research labs to accelerate the development of new innovative technologies.
Quantum Design, UK and Ireland (QD) and Medical Technologies Innovation Facility (MTIF) are pleased to announce they have entered into a partnership agreement affording customers the ability to view and utilise the JA Woollam IR VASE II Spectroscopic Ellipsometer. Indeed, this is only one of two such instruments in the UK and the only one now made available to customers in the UK in this way.
