A footbridge is scheduled to be put into operation in the capital city of Hanoi next month following over a year of construction.
The three-way pedestrian bridge connects the sidewalk of Hoang Minh Giam Street along Thanh Xuan Park with two separate street corners on either side of Nguyen Thi Thap Street in Thanh Xuan District.
Construction of the 49-meter-long link with three four-meter walkways commenced in May 2020.
The Y-shaped bridge employs a steel box girder upper structure supported by three main steel-and-concrete pillars, according to a representative of Thanh Xuan District’s Management Board for Construction Investment Project.

Run-down apartment blocks throughout Hanoi pose deadly threats to their residents, yet authorities have no mechanism to step in and save those they are meant to protect.
The capital city is home to 1,579 apartment buildings which were constructed between 1960 and 1992, many of which are in dire need of renovation, according to the municipal Department of Construction.
No work can be done on these buildings without consent from 100 percent of the residents, no matter how deadly or uninhabitable they become, according to the construction department.
