ONLINE: Loud N Unchained Black Theater Festival Apr 30, 2021 7:00 PM April 19, 2021 Dana Pellebon T. S. Banks is directing a collection of spoken word pieces and monologues in the Loud N Unchained Black Theater Festival. Several years in the making, this celebration of theater, music, poetry and performance art written, directed and performed by Black artists was originally on the schedule last summer at Broom Street Theater. The LNU Festival instead will make its debut virtually with five filmed performances premiering free of charge at blacktheaterfestival.com (7 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Friday, 5 p.m., 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Saturday). The fest includes works by Austin Dean Ashford, Sean Avery, Quanda Johnson and Rachel Lynett, as well as a showcase of spoken word and drag performances by Madison and Milwaukee performers. Note, each performance will only be available at the time it premieres.

Experiences transformed A festival from Loud ‘N Unchained Co. will showcase the work and performances of Black theater artists Dana Pellebon T. S. Banks is directing a collection of spoken word pieces and monologues in the Loud N Unchained Black Theater Festival. The LNU (Loud ’N Unchained) Black Theater Festival, which debuts on April 30, has been several years in the making. Producer Dana Pellebon says it feels long overdue. “I was actually the last member added to the team,” Pellebon says in a recent interview. “But this idea aligned really well with my goals as a director, producer and artist. I’ve been working for a while to create a space to showcase Black theater artists.”
