Dimapur, Oct. 18 (EMN): In a first of its kind in Mokokchung zone, a total of 58 food business operators (FBO) including self help groups (SHG) were issued food safety training and certification (FoSTaC). The certification to this effect was initiated by the Food Safety and Standard Authority of INDIA (FSSAI) and the department of Health and Family Welfare. An update from the office of the chief medical officer (CMO), Mokokchung, stated that various food safety activities/ audit were conducted by MS Certification Services LTD, Kolkata, an FSSAI empanelled agency and food safety wing, Mokokchung zone. Report stated that a total of 20 restaurants and cafes were also audited for hygiene rating out of which 6 achieved ‘excellent’ and 14 achieved ‘very good’ rating, while five high risk units such as bakery and hotel were accessed out of which 2 got A+ and 3 got ‘B’ rating.
