Israeli Occupation Forces Continue with Attacks on Masjid Al-Aqsa & Palestinian Worshippers
May 11, 2021
After a slight reprieve, Israeli occupation forces continued with their attacks on Masjid Al-Aqsa.
The Palestine Information Network (PIN) reports that after the Taraweeh on Monday night, Islam’s third holiest site was transformed into exactly the same theatre for Israeli attacks as Monday.
“Worshippers were besieged in the Qibli Musallah, Dome of the Rock and Marwani Musallah. There was more suffocation from gas and other injuries where medical attention was denied until the Israeli forces ultimately withdrew.”
Pin says soldiers being present, let alone utilizing a place of worship at Al-Aqsa as a military arena and shooting range is abnormal and unacceptable.
An Al-Quds activist in Palestine has urged the world to pray for the protection of Masjid Al-Aqsa and the safety of Palestinians.
Moaadh Khateeb was speaking to Radio Islam live from Palestine where Israeli police attacked Palestinian protesters at Islam’s third holiest site in Jerusalem on Monday, the latest in a series of confrontations that is pushing the contested city to the brink of eruption.
Masjid Al-Aqsa came under serious attack by Israeli Occupation forces who stormed the place of worship firing stun grenades and teargas at Palestinians.
Hundreds of Palestinians have been hurt over the past few days with the number of injuries increasing dramatically.
Palestinian ambassador to South Africa Hanan Jarar has told Radio Islam the attacks on Masjid Al-Aqsa and on the residents of Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood in Jerusalem is a clear indication of a Zionist attempt to create a new reality in the holy city of Jerusalem.
Israeli police fired rubber-coated metal bullets and stun grenades Palestinians and worshippers as on Friday night, the 26
th of Ramadan while they were performing the Taraweeh salaah.
At least two hundred and five musallees including children were injured in the attack.
Israeli forces also stormed the sound room at Masjid al-Aqsa and disconnected the wires for speakers such that announcements from the Qibli Musallah do not reach other parts of the Masjid.
