PESHAWAR/SWAT: Protest demonstrations and rallies were held in Peshawar and Swat on Thursday to condemn Israel for its bombing on civilian population in Palestine and demand an immediate end to the brutal killing of innocent people.
In Peshawar, Awami National Party women wing, Islami Jamiat Talba, Jamaat-i-Islami (youth wing), Almi Muttahida Ulema Mashaikh Council, Qaumi Amn Committee, Imamia Council and Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat held protest demonstrations outside the Peshawar Press Club and at Chowk Yadgar to express solidarity with the oppressed people of Palestine.
The protesters set the flag of Israel on fire and asked the United Nations to play its role for an immediate end to the ongoing bombardment on Palestine.

HYDERABAD: Several human rights bodies, non-governmental organisations working for the rights of neglected segments of society, police, political parties and trade unions organised functions and rallies in many Sindh towns to mark the International Human Rights Day on Thursday.
In Hyderabad, police observed the HR day at the department’s auditorium where AIGP Dr Jameel Ahmed highlighted the role of police in protection of human rights, particularly the rights of vulnerable segments of society including children, women, members of minorities, transgenders and others.
He said that police stations, women and children protection centres and facilitation centres had been set up and further strengthened to serve people.
