Premium Qatari Vegetables and Qatar Farms programs post significant sales in April Yesterday, the Ministry of Municipality and Environment released figures claiming that the Premium Qatari Vegetables and Qatar Farms programs posted significant sales during April. According to figures released by the Ministry of Municipality and Environment, total sales stood at 2,798 tons with 468 tons marketed through the Premium Qatari Vegetables and 2,330 tons through the Qatar Farms Program. These programs were launched by the MME, in collaboration with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. The goal is to improve local marketing operations and help farmers market their produce. The programs provide an opportunity for Qatari farmers to display their local production of high-quality vegetables at affordable prices for consumers without an intermediary.

More Qatari vegetables sold in March According to the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME), Premium Qatari Vegetables and Qatar Farms programs achieved significant sales in March. A total of 3,751 tons were sold during the month; 456 tons through the Premium Qatari Vegetables and 3,295 tons from the Qatar Farms Program. There was an increase of 51 tons compared to February when a total of 3,700 tons of local vegetables were sold. The MME launched these programs in co-operation with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to improve local marketing operations and help the farmers market their produce. The programs provided the opportunity for Qatari farmers to display their locally produced high-quality vegetables which were available at affordable prices for consumers.

In press statements, the Assistant Director of the Agricultural Affairs Department said that the Ministry had launched many marketing initiatives that farms can benefit from, such as opening direct marketing outlets like the five Qatari agricultural product yards in various parts of the country, which had been operating since 2012 at Al Mazroua, Al Khor and Al Thakhira, Al Wakra, Al Shamal and Al Shahaniya, with the aim of providing farmers with an opportunity to sell their products directly to consumers without
