Doha: Spaniard Santiago Cazorla scored the winner as champions Al Sadd edged Al Rayyan 2-1 in a thrilling ‘Qatar Clasico’ to maintain their unbeaten streak in the QNB Stars League (QSL).
Al Rayyan despite the defeat at Al Sadd Stadium last night will keep third spot with 34 points, going into the final round after Al Ahli (33 points) and Qatar SC (32 points) played out a 1-1 draw, earlier at the same venue.
Also yesterday at the Al Ahli Stadium, Al Khor snatched a point against runners-up Al Duhail with a 1-1 draw, and are now just two points behind 10th placed Umm Salal with 16 points.

Doha: The 2020-21 season QNB Stars League’s Week 20 action, where as many as 18 goals were scored, witnessed exciting action. All six matches were played on Saturday.
New champions Al Sadd got back to winning ways with a 2-0 victory over Al Gharafa to be on 54 points. It was The Wolves’ 17th victory, while The Cheetahs remained on 30 points after crashing to their ninth defeat. In the process, they slipped one position to sixth in the table.
Al Duhail staged a comeback 3-2 win over Al Arabi to ensure they finish as this season’s runners-up.

Feared striker Baghdad Bounedjah scored deep into the second half as Al Sadd edged arch-rivals Al Rayyan 1-0 in their traditional Qatar Clasico clash at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium.
After a sensational first half performance from both the sides, Al Sadd dominated the final session with Bounedjah netting the winner in 83rd minute – once again proving his mettle following his brace in the Wolves’ 2-1 win over Al Arabi in the Amir Cup final on Friday.
