Doha: Qatar Development Bank (QDB) and M7, a creative startup hub operating under Qatar Museums, have announced the launch of Scale7, a business incubator for innovative entrepreneurs in Qatar. Scale 7 aims to develop and nurture a creative and artistic ecosystem to incubate and support Qatari entrepreneurs, small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and pioneering emerging industries in the fields of fashion, design and technology.
Scale7 is located at M7’s premises in the heart of Msheireb Downtown Doha. Doha: The MENA region’s leading mixed-use business incubator, Qatar Business Incubation Center (QBIC) has successfully concluded the second wave of its newly formed Lean Manufacturing Program (LMP), following an event streamed live from QBIC’s headquarters in Doha.
The seven-week program – which is the first of its kind in the country – has seen several promising industrial startups and rapidly growing manufacturing companies take part in practical workshops and developmental online sessions.
The LMP team received applications from more than 40 startups, out of which 5 teams were selected to pitch their ideas before a panel of expert judges. The four winners for the second wave of the program were Oxy Tank (Mohsin Al Shaikh), which produces watertank coolers, Biscuit Factory (Khalifa Al Thani), a made-in-Qatar biscuit production startup, Arkana (Hassan Al Ansari) for its innovative approach to

Doha: The US-Qatar Business Council (USQBC), the Silicon Valley Forum and the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Washington DC hosted a virtual event on December 8, entitled ‘Qatar in Focus: Smarter Countries & Thriving Communities in the Digital Age’.
The virtual event provided US companies with an overview on how Qatar is driving ambitious economic diversification by investing in smart cities technologies and digital innovation to build its smart nation. Highlighting the growing relations between Qatar and US, officials said that the total economic value of the partnership between the two countries has exceeded $200bn.

Doha: The Mena region’s leading mixed-use business incubator, Qatar Business Incubation Center (QBIC) – a division of Qatar Development Bank (QDB) - has announced the winners of the 14th wave of its LeanStartup Program (LSP) during Selection Day.
With restrictions in place due to the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic, this year marked the program’s first hybrid wave, combining both virtual and traditional sessions. Through the hybrid format, QBIC was able to continue supporting entrepreneurs along their growth journey, despite the pandemic-induced challenges.
