Pakistan police on Saturday resorted to a baton-charge and fired tear gas on hundreds of teachers when they were marching on the residence of Prime Minister Imran Khan in Banigala, Islamabad. According to the Dawn, they were protesting against the new regularisation policy of their department. Police officers informed that a small unit succeeded in pushing back the protesters and getting the road leading to the Pak premier s residence cleared.

Punjab government teachers announced to end their sit-in at Bani Gala on Sunday after the Islamabad deputy commissioner assured them of their demand being met.
Contractual teachers from 36 districts of Punjab converged on Bani Gala, near Prime Minister Imran Khan’s residence, a day ago in an effort to draw attention toward their demand of being made permanent employees.
Chairman of the Secondary School Teachers core committee Qasim Bukhari stated that the Islamabad administration had assured them about the resolution of their demands during the negations that were held the previous day.
