Gen Dogonyaro: Plateau, Nigeria have lost a patriot- Gov Lalong – THE AUTHORITY NEWS

Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State said the demise of the former Chief of Defence Staff, Lt. Gen.  Joshua Nimyel Dogonyaro (Rtd) is a lost to the state and the nation, adding that the country has lost “a patriotic and loyal Nigerian who served with courage, dignity and selflessness”. The Governor also expressed deep shock over the death of the retired military officer, who died at the age of 80. Our correspondent reports that Gen. Dogonyaro died at the early hours of Thursday at the Jos University Teaching Hospital, where he was admitted after a brief illness. His remains have been deposited at Airforce Hospital in Jos, State Capital.

Gov Lalong vows to sign death warrant against anyone convicted of kidnapping

January 29, 2021 From Pwanagba Agabus, Jos Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State on Friday  vowed to sign the death warrant for anyone convicted for kidnapping in the State. The Governor also appealed to Judges to be very firm in trying cases of  kidnapping. Lalong stated this while swearing in the substantive President of the Customary Court of Appeal and five judges of the State high Court and Customary Court of Appeal at the Government House Rayfield Jos. Lalong who described as worrisome the incidences of kidnapping and other violent crimes in the State frowned at the situation where suspected kidnappers who are arrested are not prosecuted as and when due and in some cases released without charge.
