台鐵台中成功站去年3月發現鋼軌出現裂縫卻未更換新軌，5月19日斷軌44公分，也未依SOP向調度員通報，讓後面兩班莒光號及普悠瑪列車高速通過，幸未釀災。另外，現有軌道檢查車已逾使用年限10年，但5年前購買的軌道檢查車至今未通過驗收。監察院通過監委陳景峻、葉宜津提案，糾正台鐵局，並將軌道檢查車採購部分移送法務部查處。2位監委說，去年5月19日台鐵台中成功站南側斷軌44公分，卻未依SOP向調度員通報，導致後續有2次莒光號、288次普悠瑪自強號，高速通過斷軌處，險再釀重大事故。
