Progress made in development of Miller City solar field

CITY/PUTNAM COUNTY Momentum on the construction of a 1,300 acre solar
farm within Miller City village limits has increased to the point where
the Putnam County Commissioners Office considers it a virtual
certainty.
Avangrid Renewables, the American arm of the
multinational energy company Iberdrola, first expressed interest in
establishing the project in the Miller City area in late 2018. Public
conversations were held with area landholders, and with officials from
Miller City and the county. In mid-October of last year, following
lengthy negotiations, the Board of Commissioners came to an agreement

PUTNAM COUNTY Of the 345 people
tested during last week’s four-hour long Pop-Up COVID Test Site at the
fairgrounds, roughly 30% 103 individuals, 68 of whom were county
residents tested positive.
Sherri Recker, director of nursing
with the Putnam County Board of Health, reported the statistic to Board
of Health members during their regular monthly meeting last Thursday.
“We’ve
seen again an increase in cases in the last month,” Recker told the
